I made out like a bandit this evening. If only every shift could be like this. And it wasn’t because I was dressed as the Grinch, though that might have helped a little here and there.

Today was Halloween. I am not much of one for celebrating Halloween much. Maybe from too many disappointments in Halloween as a youngster. Or something. Who knows. I haven’t done much psychotherapy…

Two dashing shifts. The first was incredibly lumpy. Well paid ride. Wait. And Wait. Well Paid ride. And wait…etc. I barely made the minimum target. So weird. Then the second shift, oh my goodness. I did well fiscally. I didn’t drive a horrendous amount. And I got a lot of candy for my troubles! Woo hoo!

Treat!

I spent a lot of time over in Seneca Falls during the second shift. The algorithm tried to send me to Waterloo during my first shift. And I didn’t go. Because I was dressed up and wanted to see as many of my regulars as I could during my shifts. I saw just about everyone. (And got a free Frosty from Wendy’s) Well, no, that’s not true. Maybe two thirds of my regulars. Businesses, not customers. I don’t see customers that regularly anymore.

All in all it was a pleasant day. And I had fun as the Grinch. I even went grocery shopping all dressed up. I wanted to get some stuff for my trip. I know that food will be scarce on the planes nowadays. I remember being fed on a 30 minute puddle jumper – at least a drink and some peanuts. Now, nada.

On a completely different subject. It looks like Tesla is not going to do much for us lowly HW3 people for the foreseeable future. The AI/FSD team just released their forward looking goals, and a version for HW3 wasn’t even on the list. Which is fair and understandable. If they don’t announce a HW4/AI4 upgrade plan soon, I will have to rethink keeping this automobile. Damn my HELOC. I have been using the current HW3 version of FSD for a few days and overall it is still great. It has a few issues – especially with speed limits. And speed. I have no idea why I ask it to go 59 and it just drops back to 55 for no apparent reason. Not quickly, but over time. Maybe the car just likes to go more slowly, despite me having set it to assertive. It has done some cool things here and there as well. All in all, yay FSD imho.

Elon is an ass. Amazing. And an ass. Just saying.

One more shift of work and then I will start aiming for vacation and travel mode. I do like the traveling part of traveling, don’t I?

All done. Dinner has been snarfed – second-to-last helpings of the Mexican leftovers. Duolingo has been lingoed. Spanish currently. And the blog post has been typed. Life is good. Sometimes. Often?
