Ribs and Things

Last night I made 3 lbs of ribs for dinner. They turned out pretty well. And I have enough leftovers for days. I will start eating them on Monday. I have dinner plans tonight. Not plans with someone (poo), I just have food that is leftover that needs to be eaten. And tomorrow night I am having dinner with SM. After helping her with her tech issues. Anyway, I had two different BBQ sauces and used each on half of the ribs. I made way too many fries. I guess. Sigh. Can there ever really be too many fries? Baked beans (one of my comfart, er, comfort foods. Not that I needed comforting). And some coleslaw. Store bought. All in all a tasty meal! Woo hoo! And not that much work, really.

My meal last night

I woke up this morning and started to play. And that’s what I did most of the day. I even retrained one of my characters. I have two more to retrain. And it looks like each retraining costs more and more. Good thing I only have two that I need to retrain! I am almost caught up to where I was before i started over. And I think I am in a better spot in terms of character development, weaponry, armor, health, etc. The next bit (after the bit I am in right now) is a tough part. I have to defeat the gippers (people living with a weird Ronald Reagan based philosophy). And there are a lot of them! Sigh. We shall see how everything is going after I finish these next two bits. Which I will probably do tonight.

I took two breaks. Well, three, I guess. One was for lunch. I made myself another tasty grilled cheese sandwich. I even had a pickle with it. (I found that I had a lone pickle sitting in a jar in the fridge. It’s now in my belly.) Then I took a break that included reading the last bit of the second Emily Wilde books. I am looking forward to the third, which is sitting on the floor of my bedroom. But I will read the first book in the new to me series first. Variety, don’t you know. It is called The Hundred Thousand Kingdoms. Interesting title. And my last break was spent working on the GLO mailing list. I think it is in good shape. I have a few questions which I will pose to the group and then we can move forward on that.

My plan for the day, that I made a few days ago, did not come to fruition. I did not head out and try the two beer places that I have in my sights. Although it wasn’t actually cold out, it was cool and grey. And I just didn’t feel like going out. Which is fine. I hope to try again next weekend if the weather cooperates. And I had a dandy time here, not going out. So it worked out. Revised plan I guess.

It is dinner time here at the Chalet. I am having the last of the Mexican food for dinner. I thought the Xanga was good – but not really worth the $$ to me. If I want to have deep fried cheesecake again, I will make it myself. Or buy a cheesecake and make it with that. Anyway, food time!

Thank you for stopping by! Comments and questions are always welcome and encouraged!

Work, Work, Work

I have spent the bulk of my day working. Go me?

I started with working on communication with some “people” online. I put people in quotes because who the heck really knows anymore unless you are actually speaking to them in person in real life. Anyway, I am again dealing with bunch of scammers and catfish. Of course, nothing real there. Sad really. And then a couple of people who are real, but are just not interested in me, just my money. Not that I have that much. But I made it a rule to not give money to anyone I haven’t met in real life (business websites are of course excluded from this since I am unlikely to meet anyone from Amazon in real life…).

After that, I worked for my lunch. Well, sort of. I saw a roasted red pepper dip online somewhere and decided I had to try it. Of course, I adjusted the recipe a little bit. I think it turned out pretty well. All things considered. But soooo much of it! I am going to freeze a hefty portion of it. Maybe I will freeze two or three pouches of it. We shall see how I feel when I get to that in a little bit. Anyway, it is pretty tasty. I need to break out the pita (or the tortillas) for it for tomorrow’s lunch I think.

Next up on the work parade – doing things for the Geneva Light Opera. As usual, I am being pushed to get the tickest for sale on the web quickly, now, must have them for sale now, now now. Oh wait, the menu isn’t final. The prices changed. What? My phone number is being used somewhere? And I am not, of course, getting answers as quickly as I would like. So I am just muddling through as best I can. I think I have all the show tickets (twelve of them – four for each of three performances) up and ready to go. Items on Square are really data heavy and everything needs to be updated if I start from an existing ticket. Don’t get me started on creating the tickets from scratch. Anyway, those took a really long time.

Next I worked on the tickets for the banquet that happens in MAY!!! (Oh, and the show isn’t until June). I did one batch and they didn’t work. So I recreated them, even more simplified. And I like them. Very straightforward and simple. And if anyone prints them out the ought to use very little ink. I just finished with them around 6. I will double check everything tomorrow before telling GR that the site is ready for business. (I have to remember to change the website so that people can get to the tickets!)

And there we are. All work has made me a dull boy. No wonder no one wants to date me. Their loss.

Our Blue Skies are going away for a while again…

Last night I watched the first three episodes of season 3 of The Wheel of Time series. Or the series that I like to think of as a fantasy series with characters named like characters in the wheel of time book series. At least they are keeping some things. We got to see one scene that was a huge fan favorite, so there’s that. Although the series is really very little like the books, it is a well done fantasy series imho. So go watch it! We want the rest of the seasons please!
