Not that bad…

Ok, so dinner wasn’t as terrible as I said it was. Yes, the pork marsala didn’t turn out excellently. Almost edible for three pieces, slightly better for the other three. The Brussels Sprouts turned out well. Probably the best I have made them so far, out of 10 times? And the dessert, well, it was really tasty. Especially with some of P’s chocolate ice cream. So yummy! I’ll take 66%. And if I ever make the pork marsala dish again, I will take the mushrooms out while I continue to cook the pork. And cook the pork a teeny bit less. Maybe if I cooked the pork in more of the chicken broth and Marsala wine…We shall see.

Boats!

Today I have done a lot of nothing. Mostly listened to the second book of The Wheel of Time Series. I had some lunch – a piece of pork with mustard and sriracha and a piece of the dessert from last night. Yum! Then J&P asked if I wanted to go for a walk. Yes please!

We went down to the Shipyard and Marina and walked the pedestrian bridge. J told me that there was a storm fairly recently that had water coming up and over that bridge! That must have been some storm! It was really windy for the first half of the walk. And then the wind seemed to die down quite a bit on the way back.

M plan for the evening is to get this blog post ready to go so that I can post it as close to 6 as possible. And then do a little bit of Duolingo. After I have accomplished those to two tasks, I will head to Belfast and look for something to eat. Probably pizza, but you never know. Last stop, Front Street Pub. I don’t know if it is Pool League night tonight or not. I think it is on Wednesdays. I guess I will see. If nothing else, I will have a beer there and then either play some pool or watch some pool and then head back to the house. How’s that for excitement?

Augustus for President: I wore my name tag out – but it was so windy, that I zipped it up inside my jacket so I don’t think a single person saw it. Well, more people will see it tonight I am guessing.

I’m a little worried that maybe the stickers I ordered will be too large and people won’t even take them from me. Who knows. I only ordered a few of them so if they are too big, I can change the order next time. Or people will hate them and I will have to think of something else to give people I meet.

Curtains going up!

I didn’t think I’d be doing much this weekend. And so far, that’s true. But…

First thing this morning, I got to take An to his car to look for his tablet. I had thought I was just getting his keys and going on my own. But no, he wanted to go. We got there and he had forgotten his car keys. Luckily he had forgotten to lock the car yesterday so I got in and found his bag that contained the tablet! Phew! (The car is now locked.)

I stopped at the bike place on the way back from An’s only to discover that my bike wasn’t ready. Grr. They eventually sent me an email (no text) saying the bike was ready. I think the tune up cost more than I paid for the bike. Sigh.

Back home I played a bit and then ate my leftover grilled cheese sandwich for lunch. Then headed out and picked up the bike. Mostly missing the rain! Woo hoo!

After lunch, more playing. I completed the game on easy mode. I still found it pretty hard though. And I started a new game. I don’t know if I am going to finish it. It is about WWI. And it feels like I started in the middle. I had thought I had played a teeny bit, but that there was an flying bit – and I don’t really like flying in games generally. I could of course be hallucinating the whole thing.

And now the weather is going to be cold for a week. The question I have for myself, is “will I still get the other curtains that I want up, up this week or not?” Anything is possible.

I had an unexpected treat this evening. I was napping and thought I heard my phone ding. Well, not my phone, as it is almost always on silent. But I get my messages on my tablet, too. And that dings still. Quietly. But I dragged my eyes open and looked and it was a message from a long lost friend! Asking if I wanted to go for a walk. Now, as many of you may know or surmised, I am not that big into spontaneity. But, I hadn’t been face to face with this person for a long, long time. Well, I saw her briefly once or twice where she works, but that doesn’t really count. And those were also fairly long ago. So, I said yes!

We met up by the lake. Walked downtown and then meandered back to her car. Two hours all told, give or take. It was very pleasant. And who knows, maybe we will do something else together again one day. I am on her pace, since I am more interested in hanging out with her than she is with me. She has three jobs, three kids and two dogs, so she does kind of keep busy…We will see what happens. Anything is possible…

And there we have it. A day that had an unexpected event occur. A pleasant unexpected event even! Woo hoo!

Dinner will be leftovers from Phoenix Flavor still. And then a quiet night at home. I’m ok with that.
