It’s weird how things happen and how information gets passed around. This morning, I ran into a grade school friend who I don’t see all that often. We chatted for a bit before he let drop the bombshell. A mutual friend had died – our age. I was shocked and dsimayed. I hadn’t heard anything about it, which isn’t really a surprise since I didn’t communicate with him all that much. Still, it was weird. Especially since he was just as old as I am.
My first dash was not optimal. Not a lot of rides. Not a lot of good rides. Too much driving. I had to decline one as well, to add an icky cherry to my poop sundae of a shift.
One of SM’s friends wanted to borrow chairs and tables from SM. I sent her a message and she happened to also be in the same neighborhood. So, that worked out well.
For the lunch break, I tried to get a few of my to do items checked off. I didn’t manage as many as I would have liked, but life is that way sometimes. Why didn’t I? Because I had other obligations that impinged on my lunch time.
Yes, it was back to helping JC and EC out. Today was just JC to an appointment. And then grocery shopping. Then back to his house, where I helped a bit more. All of this ended up with me not getting back to dashing until almost 4:30 in the afternoon. Woo hoo.
The second dash was, obviously, abbreviated. It was not a great dash. It started off well, with a bunch of decent rides and then quickly deteriorated with a few non tipped rides. And ended up with an insanely long drive for not enough money. Sometimes I loathe dashing.
Because I was heading home so late, my plan to make something for dinner with what I had in the house went right out the window. I had thought I would make a waffle and some eggs and maybe some bacon and some hash browns. But all of that would have taken me at least half an hour. Added to getting home half an hour later than I had wanted, it was a no brainer. Off to Los Amigos Taqueria.
There, the person working told me that they prioritized to go orders and that she would get me out quickly. Which she did. Despite having about 20+ meals going out soon after I got there. The food is now waiting patiently for me down in the kitchen. As soon as I finish typing (and lightly editing) this piece, it will be dinner time and I am a teensy bit peckish.
Augustus for President: More tortoise steps. Spoke with some people about the candidacy. Even gave one person the website with an NFC card, which is pretty cool tech, actually. And had more thoughts that need to get entered into my thoughts documents. One thought is that I need to find someone to take a whack at organizing and editing those documents. One day. Soon, I hope.
