Not to be trifled with

Most of the ingredients

So, I did end up making my first trifle today. I haven’t tried any of it yet. Maybe after dinner tonight. It wasn’t as hard as I thought it was going to be. I didn’t have enough blueberries to put into my second container of trifle. Sigh. And I think I probably ought to have added some lemon juice to the lemon pudding. I did add some lemon chunks into the mix. We will see if that works. Anyway, I did it! Picture tomorrow!

Quiet day again today, which makes me happy. I did have to get up and head out at a decent time. JC needed to have a bill paid. After which, I picked up CC and CC (KC?) and took them to the ROC airport. After dropping them, I headed home – listening to more of the second book of DCC.

Listening to books is very different from reading them. I hear things I might have missed when I read through the book originally. I will admit, though, I may also miss some stuff because, when listening, if I have my eyes closed, I might just start to drift a bit. Oops.

JC made a noise about maybe going out to dinner tonight – but I don’t know if that is going to happen. If he doesn’t feel up to it, I will make breakfast for dinner. Easy and yummy.

My bed has clean sheets, I have clean clothes and clean hair. All is right with the world.

As for the President thing, I am thinking about how I am going to start talking with higher level people about it with any sort of seriousness. I know that most people will take it for some sort of joke unless/until I get some traction nationally. I also need to find a campaign manager who will work on spec until we get some fundraising in place. Do I get to pay myself a salary from the donations? Probably not. That would suck. I will need an income to keep the house afloat while I am out on the road. I guess I will start looking on the internet and see what resources there are. Probably a good bunch…

Now it is just a waiting game to see if JC ends up wanting to go to dinner together or not. If I remember correctly, they tend to eat late – which I generally prefer – though recently, I have been eating between 7 and 7:30 most nights…

I didn’t Even Pass Out!

I woke up this morning and didn’t do a lot except for listen to Dungeon Crawler Carl (the first book of the series). At some point I decided I had to get up and get the day started. So I flipped back the sheets and did my morning ablutions. Then I sort of made the bed, casually tossing the blanket and sheet towards the head of the bed. There was the sound of something hitting the wooden floor but I had no idea what it could have been. I eventually found out. It was one of my Airpods. Sigh.

After doing a light yoga, I went back to look for the Airpod. It has been my experience that something dropped can often end up in places one would rarely imagine the thing could end up. I have some crap under my bed – ok, not crap really – it is a valuable painting (waiting to be restored – one day) and its frame, so I didn’t think that the little teeny airpod could get far.

Ugh, I hadn’t really cleaned under my bed in centuries (ok, not really that long – maybe a decade) so there was a whole lot of stuff under there. I got my magic duster and went to work, eventually pulling the gilt frame out. And later the painting safe box out as well. And then, finally, after I had an unobstructed view of the under bed (nether?) region, I saw it – almost to the other side of the bed!! How the thing had gotten that far is out of my ken. But I retrieved and put it into its charging case! Phew! And the under bed region is a little cleaner. Win win.

I have no plans for the day. And so far, no one has asked me for any of my time. Which means I am seriously considering hopping on my bike and riding my typical bike riding route! I think I didn’t ride my bike once last year. Weird. Speaking of bikes – I have an idea for a digital bike horn. I am looking for investors. Ok, not really. I am looking for someone to take the idea and run with it and maybe give me a teeny percentage of the company. If anyone is interested in this weird little idea, let me know.

Perhaps it is trifle day. Perhaps not. Leaning towards doing it though. Since tomorrow I have an airport run in the morning/afternoon.

An ok bike selfie?

Still no trifle, so it probably won’t happen tonight. The pudding is a little bit daunting. I will have to make some milk for the recipe. Sigh. Not hard, but I just am not feeling motivated. Maybe tomorrow after I get back from the airport I will feel in a trifling mood…

I did, though, go for a bike ride! It has been a long time! I did my usual route – from my house up to the lake. Down that street and then eventually to the lake. Then around the top of the lake to the Marina, through a state park. It was gorgeous out. And there were oodles of people taking advantage of the beautiful day, both on land and on sea (well, lake…). Nice to see! And I chatted someone I have known from my days at the Smith who I haven’t seen for a while. Somehow I thought that I had seen that they had gotten married. (They hadn’t) Anyway, I also met the mom.

Back home, I listened to more Dungeon Crawler Carl (DCC) and did my Duolingo. And finished up this blog post. I just had a thought – will I still do my daily blog if (when?) I am president of the United States? Probably in some form or other…

And for dinner tonight, more angel hair pasta and meatballs. So excited!

So Much to Write!

I keep getting notified that I have new subscribers. Hi!

Today was a dashing day – two dashes. And my Friday! Woo hoo! Tomorrow is July 4th and I am not sure if a lot of places are going to be closed. So I might find my day of errands pushed back to Saturday. I am guessing government offices will be closed at least. Maybe? Who knows?

I had to stop watching Being Erika. I liked the first few episodes. But I was watching one last night and I just couldn’t stomach how obviously inconsiderate the lead character was being. Sure, she may redeem herself eventually, but I didn’t want to stick around for that to happen. Next! I flipped around, watched pieces of a few shows and wasn’t all that impressed. So, I started to watch Ted Lasso again. For the fourth time. Sigh.

Anyway, back to the exciting world of dashing. My first dash was, overall, quite pleasant. I didn’t have to drive that much. I declined a bad ride. And unassigned from a ride that I accepted before it registered in my pea (not pee) brain that $3 for an 8 mile trip was not a good thing. What’s funny is that after I declined the one and unassigned from the other, both times I was offered a much better ride next. I have no clue what the hell Door Dash’s algorithm is doing. And I have decided that I just don’t care. And it seems that acceptance is way less important to Door Dash than completion is. Which is weird to me, but ok. Note to self (and any other dashers): better to decline than to unassign!

Flers

Second dash was, well, lots of driving. Almost 100 miles in one shift! Decent money, but not enough to cover that many miles. Damn door dash stuck it to me, once again. I was offered $13 for two orders – one nearby, the other far away – I thought maybe Phelps. But the distance was, sadly, measured as the crow flies, and not on actual roads. So what was supposed to be a total of 14 miles was actually more like 18. The second delivery was to Clifton Springs!!! But it took me to a decent amount $ wise. My next two rides were also long. But I survived and did ok for the week. Yay!

My mom used to say my brother’s head was too small for his body. I hadn’t really noticed it myself. The other day, though, I either saw myself somewhere or maybe it was a dream, but it looked like my head was teeny compared to my body. Thoughts? Do I have a teeny head?

Since the worst bill in history just was passed (WTF!!!) that means the EV incentives will end on September 30th. Hopefully by then the new Tesla models will be ready for primetime. And I can decide whether to buy another model 3 or wait until the new models are actually for sale. It’s a money thing. Who knows how Tesla will respond to this change? I certainly don’t. So, I will wait and see what happens. Plans are good. And better when they are flexible!

I am home. I have done my Duolingo (bunch of freakin’ tryhards again), and am finishing up my blog post. I have done some grocery shopping and have all the ingredients I need to try and make a lemon blueberry trifle. And lots of other semi-frivolous stuff. Yes, I bought some swedish fish. Sue me.

Oh, and I have pretty much decided that I am going to at least seriously consider running for President in the 2028 election – if there is one. Even if someone as potentially good as AOC runs, I will still run. I don’t trust anyone to not kowtow to the money people and the powerful. Or to the GD DNC. If only they had run Bernie instead of Hillary, we might not have had to deal with all this crap from Drumpf. IMHO of course.
