Another $0.51 Tip!

Just when I was getting fed up with the crappy rides I was getting, a no tipper gave me a $5 cash tip. Did that totally make up for all the crappy rides I’ve gotten today in my two shifts? No, not at all. But it did nip my incipient meltdown from occurring. That’s a good thing.

Yes, a two dash day and both dashes were not scintillating. Especially the person who tipped me $0.51 on an 18 mile (on way) ride. Seriously. What are these people thinking? And this is the second time I have taken this ride and should know better. Grrr. And poo on them.

Happiness?

During my lunch break, I dropped in on Elena and Jim just to check on them. They were doing ok. Getting the hang of using their pill boxes. They really do need an in house helper if they are to stay in their house for a considerable time. At least CC is thinking about the issues. Hopefully he will make something happen sooner rather than too late.

I made a quick stop at the post office to mail something for EC. I hope I was correct that the package contained no hazardous materials. I don’t want the Postal Police after me! Though, come to think of it, my name isn’t anywhere on the package. Phew! Then again, I did pay for it with a card. Hmm…I will ask someone for bail if it comes to that.

My Elephant food was not great, actually. The dipping sauce for the dumplings spilled – not really sure how. And the drunken noodles weren’t all that tasty. I think I will need to add a lot of soy sauce to get me through eating the rest of that meal. I bought a lot of snacks at Wegman’s just now, so even if I only eat a little bit of actual dinner, I won’t go hungry tonight.

Duolingo is done. As this blog will be soon.

Tomorrow, another JN ride. To which I will add a trip to Farmington to get the second key for the car. I have no idea why they didn’t have it with the car. Maybe because it was off being detailed…I asked them to mail it and they said no. No idea why. Maybe they can explain it to me tomorrow. Then, after the JN ride, I will head to Syracuse to go to the State Fair. I haven’t been since I went with mom last. Getting her a wheel chair really helped with both of our peace of minds I think. Not sure what is happening on Saturday. I am going to offer work to the kids and see if anyone wants to take me up on it. And Sunday I may be meeting up with a coworker I keep seeing but not meeting up with. We shall see what happens this time. I am going to suggest the Cracker Factory.

Augustus for President: I would really a couple of people to travel with me on my trip to all fifty states early next year. Yes, it will be a whirlwind trip. And it will be a good amount of work. But I think it will be a good way to get some eyeballs on me and my nascent campaign. And it will of course be interesting and maybe even fun! Who do I know who could travel for around 70 days? And would we take separate cars? We would need a few inexpensive tablets loaded with the forms that I want people to fill out (Amongst other things). And I think taking a printer to print out forms would be a good idea too. I guess I will be buying a printer for the campaign this weekend as on Monday I hope to hand the reigns of the website management for GLO to SN.

Nobody Told me They Moved

New location

That was a dashing surprise. And proves just how unobservant I am. Apparently The Elephant moved from their basement digs (where they have been for almost 8 years) five days ago, according to the owner. Sigh. I only found out because someone ordered door dash from there and I went to the old location. It looked like the restaurant had just closed suddenly without warning. Until I saw the teeny sign on the ground saying that they had moved! I wish them luck in the new space. And I ordered tonight’s dinner from there. So I am going to knock this blog post out relatively quickly. Hahaha, no, I won’t…

It was a two dash day and both were decent. On the first dash, I picked a final dash that ended me up right near my house! Woo hoo! For lunch I had my leftover sandwich from Nerdvana. Still good the second day.

My second dash was decent as well. Like the dash from The Elephant. And a few other decent dashes. I did a little more driving on the second dash.

During my second dash, I also stopped at Lake Drum to pick up the CSA for EC and JC. I chose swiss chard, cucumbers, red onions, roma tomatoes and a bunch of basil. I hope those were ok choices. EC had made noises about little cucumbers, so that was my first choice. If it had been me, my choices would have been mostly different. Aside from the red onions. Then I would have added one of the teeny weeny watermelons. Not sure what else, though…I can’t really do a CSA as even that little amount of produce might go bad before I got to it.

After my shift, I took the CSA to EC and JC and they gave me a mango, some asparagus and some kale. I am not a huge kale fan, so we shall see what becomes of that. I will probably juice the mango. And I’ll make something with the asparagus sometime soon. It is all very tender looking already, so a few minutes of steaming ought to do the trick. Add some butter and salt and pepper and maybe a little lemon juice and voila! Yummy food!

On the way home, I stopped at The Elephant and ordered dinner. It was a bit more expensive than I had thought it was going to be. But I got stuff I really liked. Well, mostly. I got drunken noodles with crispy duck. And an appetizer – I had the owner choose for me – between dumplings and curry puffs. (She chose the dumplings) And a large Thai Iced Tea. Which I am going to go eat and drink in about five minutes.

Augustus for President: I purchased two license frames that say “Augustus for President ’28” on them. I hope I get them soon. I am also thinking of getting a vanity plate that says A is For (which is also the current name of the vehicle internally). And lastly, definitely thinking about getting the car wrapped before I head off into the wilds of the US for the first of several all state tours. In either January or February next year. Speaking of which, who do I know who lives in which states? It would be nice to know someone in each state to help me figure out where to go and who to talk with. I know people in Maine, Connecticut, NY, Virginia, Maryland, North Carolina, Florida, Louisiana, Texas, Arizona, California, and Washington State. (and Washington, DC) Which leaves a lot of states unaccounted for. Oh, and Michigan. And Kansas (or Missouri – not sure which part of KC they live – I think Kansas…) 14 out of 50. It’s a start.
