It was a Tuesday. And it was a two dash day. Woo hoo!
Tuesdays, as long time readers may know, have often in the past been “Let’s give Augustus all the Long Drive until he cries Uncle” days. During my first dashing shift, I sort of managed to avoid that fate. Not that I didn’t drive a lot, I did. But I drove a lot for more money than I drove! I like that. The evening shift, not so much. I ended up driving almost 100 miles in the second shift alone! And for not enough money. For a decent amount in the whole scheme of things, but certainly not enough money for all the mileage I put on the car. And…the long range handled it all without charging! Woo hoo!!

During my lunch break, I accomplished all the tasks I had set for myself and still had time left over. Enough time that I could try and sew up the pillow my mom made all those years ago. It took me a while to get everything organized. I had forgotten how threading tools worked, so that was a little hurdle. I think my stitches are probably uneven and all, but I got it done. Eventually.
Also during the lunch break I cut up and deseeded all of the peppers I had in the kitchen. I had two pint containers worth – all from EC. Half were jalapeños and half were sweet red, yellow and orange peppers. I was going to put off making the poppers until Friday, but I think I will make them tomorrow during my lunch break – if they will bake in time. Let me check…the recipe says that the whole process ought to take less than an hour. We shall see. I think I might need some chives. The recipe calls for them. I don’t know how important they are. These are baked poppers rather than deep fried. The deep fried ones take a lot longer, especially since the recipe I looked at asked that the poppers be coated three times! With drying in between each! Not this time, poppers!
I have done my Duolingo. A new friend quest has started. I am hoping we can complete it. It is asking for 75 lessons! I did a few today. Hopefully lots more tomorrow. And I’m hoping my quest partner can do some as well.
And now it is coming up on dinner time. I am having more of my leftover hamburger. I only ate about half of it last night. The English muffin made a sturdy bun! I am going to add more stuff tonight – more lettuce, more pickles, maybe some mustard. And a side salad, I think.
Augustus for President: I called the FEC today and spoke with a nice, helpful person named David. Helpful but not overly generous in their responses. I had a few big questions: Could I self fund? Yes. Was the $5k only funding? Or was it only expenses? Or could it be a combination of both? Only funding or expenses, not a combination. I also found out, though it wasn’t a question, that I could register before we reached the $5k mark. I am thinking we will register in November, so that my Treasurer will only have to report once this year. What else did I learn from David? Oh, right, that I can use the name A is for Augustus and America. I don’t have to use my full name. How exciting is that? It is moderately exciting. What it does mean, though, is that I have to change my DBA and my business banking account to all have the same name. I wonder if I will have to close my bank account and reopen it? If I do have to close it, maybe I will choose a national bank instead of Lyons National Bank. Hmm. Anyway, I plan to go to Canandaigua on Friday and do the DBA name change. And then go to the bank and change the name there. Then, I hope, I will be able to set up an account or two or three to enable donations to be accepted. Actually, I think that is a treasurer task, don’t you agree?
One more thing, thanks to EL trying to answer the second survey, I discovered that I had not released it to the public. Sigh. I don’t know why no one else told me that. Anyway, it should be working now. And if you could fill it out and ask all of your friends to fill out both surveys – both democrats and MAGA (is there really a “good” republican party anymore?) that would be awesome! Thank you!
