Some people start with a title. Some people add the title at the end. Neither is wrong. And I do both. I’m flexible.
I appreciate flexibility. In mind and body. I was saddened today when a person I thought was interesting on Threads said that only assholes drive Teslas. I, of course, disagree. Especially since I drive a Tesla. My second. And definitely not my last. I can sort of understand that some people think that because Elon is an asshole that anyone who drives a Tesla is an asshole too. And that makes me sad. Tesla has more than 100k employees. And they make the best, most efficient, most technologically advanced and yes, the safest cars and trucks out there. Not to mention all of their solar and battery tech that is helping the world transition to less dependence on fossil fuels. Oh, and autonomy, which will eventually make roads a lot safer. And if Optimus comes about, who knows how the world will change. The jury is still out on that one. Optimus could be a great thing. Or it could be the final nail in the coffin of late stage capitalism. I mean, if capitalists don’t need human workers anymore, how will the people eat? Anyway, yes, Elon is a major dick. And he has helped to bring the nation to a state of chaos and maybe even helped bring about the end of democracy as we know it in this country. That doesn’t stop Tesla itself from being a good company. And doesn’t make anyone who drives a Tesla an asshole. In my humblest of opinions.
Today has been a pleasant day. I wish it had been a Friday, but it just wasn’t. Oh well. Anyway, I got up, did nothing much till about 10. Then I cranked through my to do list. Started packing, started collecting things that I wanted to take with me to my sister’s house. Started figuring out what I want to do when around the holidays. And all of that before noon. Lunch was devoted to eating up what I could get rid of from the fridge – things that might be worse off after another week sitting around in there. And I took a shower.
Since I was so ahead of schedule, I opted to take a book back to the library and then head to JC’s to see if I could help him with some phone questions and issues. He is actually managing quite well with it, despite it being new tech for him. I made a few icons larger – which I might do on my phone as well. I just realized that he somehow regressed systems. I don’t know how that happened. I am not going to worry about it. We are going to set up a date with the Apple Genius bar in Victor after I get back from Maine and see if we can get a few other issues fixed. Like why Siri keeps turning itself off, despite being turned on and set up numerous times. Irksome. And must be doubly irksome to JC.
We also had a good talk about the trip that EC and I took to KC to check out possible places for them to roost. I think he is secretly pleased that something is settled in that realm. I did point out that there are a few more steps to go before the place is theirs. Which gives them more time to get their act together and take it on the road.

Back at home, I continued packing and getting the car ready for the trip. It had another bath. And I already put some things in the car, like charging stuff, that I didn’t want to forget. Most everything else is piled near doorways. I also have early morning alerts on my phone so that I hopefully won’t forget anything too important on this trip. But as I remind others, I will still be in a civilized place and anything that I might forget can probably be found at my destination. Woo hoo.
Soon, it will be Duolingo and dinner time. So excited! I am peckish.
Augustus for President: I think I will hire a virtual assistant starting January 5 2026. Their focus will be on the preparations for the trip to the fifty state capitals (and DC). I still have some more work that I need to do on that. Like checking the dates and the routes. I need to make a list of all the things that I would like the VA to do for the trip. Like help create a press release and distribute them. Come up with a list of all the governors and their contact infomration. Maybe come up with mailing address for political organizations and send press releases and questionnaires to them. And then during the trip, make all the travel arrangements so I don’t have to think about them.
I did realize that I know more people in more places that I had originally thought I did. So maybe 10 people who live within striking distance of capitals. If all those people let me stay with them, that could save me at least $1,000 which would be great! I might know more, but those are the ones that have come to mind so far.
I can get J&G and J&P to fill out my forms maybe over the holidays maybe.
