Here I am at one of my sort of favorite charging locations. Sort of favorite because I like it and don’t like it at the same time. It’s in Rotterdam NY, near Schenectady. The chargers are located at a gas station mini mart type place. So that’s a good thing. And right across the street is a fun BBQ place where I have gotten food a few times (not tonight, though). Those are the good things. The bad thing is that it is one of the chargers farthest (furthest?) from the Thruway. At least two miles. Not optimal. Well, Tesla has determined that I need to charge for half an hour at this stop (not a super fast charger (not that my car can charge at very high speeds, being an older one)) to allow me to get home with only one more supercharger stop. That’s an ok trade off to me, I think. Then again, maybe there aren’t a lot of superchargers between where I am now and the next one, in Verona NY at the Turning Stone Casino. I also have to charge there for a longish while. Fun times.
To be clear, I don’t really have range anxiety anymore. As long as I pay attention to what the Tesla is telling me, I get where I need to go without too much stress. What I do have anxiety over is the cost of supercharging as I mentioned the other day. The prices have come down a little already. It could be a seasonal difference actually. I don’t know. I don’t use supercharges except when I am on longer road trips.
This morning, I woke up around 7:30 am. I did my morning Duolingo – Italian today and then started getting ready to leave. I saw J as she passed in the hallway while I was stripping the bed. I like stripping beds. Making them is ok too. But I enjoy stripping beds more. And I packed up all my stuff. I think I need to purchase one more set of long underwear for next winter. Or maybe I will get some later this winter. But a fourth set would be good in any case. The suitcase was full of dirty laundry. And I had a bag with computer things in it. And lastly, my food bag – I am bringing home the remnants of the Chinese dinner we had the other night. I will eat that on Monday! So excited! Duck for days!! I also took my leftovers from last night’s yummy Thai dinner.
Oh, about that dinner. When J&P suggested Thai, I thought they meant the little teeny place near the Front Street Pub. But that wasn’t the case. It was the new-ish Thai place on High Street called Fon’s. (I met Fon herself!!) It was a nice, small place. Very clean and well appointed. It wasn’t very crowded on a Friday night at the end of their service. P&J shared soup and crab fried rice. We all shared samosas and “money bags.” I had drunken noodles with duck as the protein. And I had a Thai iced tea. Yum!
I ended up not going out last night. It was way too cold for me to make another foray out after dinner. And I was thinking I might be getting a teeny bit sick – since P&J both had colds. I stayed in and watched stuff on the computer and made it a relatively early night.
I hit the road around 8:30 I believe. And I have been making good time. I was told to stop at two new to me superchargers. At the second one, I bought myself a pizza. Sometimes I wonder about my math skills. I ought to have had the special, two cheese pizzas and a soda for $14 instead I got one pepperoni pizza for $11. Weird little pan pizza like pizzas. Tasty though. I will eat more of it at the Turning Stone stop I think. Though I might also take the long walk in and go the bathroom there.

Ok, I’m home now and have more I could share. But I’m not going to. I would like to do some at home relaxing, if you all don’t mind.
Happy Saturday. The end is nigh!
