Yay! That many dashing shifts and days and hours closer to getting my Tesla back. Sadly, I called the car place today and they said that the Tesla would probably be ready toward the end of the day on the 23rd. Poop. I was planning on heading up there as early as I could to get the car so I didn’t have to have the icky ICE car that I have now a moment longer than I needed to. And didn’t need to use it a second more than was necessary. I mean, it goes from 0-60 in about six minutes! (Ok, that might be a slight exaggeration…) I am so done with this car…good thing I barely have to drive it between now and Monday! Woo hoo!

But, I drove it today on my only dashing shift. Did I make a boat load of money on this dash? No, but it was enough to get me to my weekly goal. Not a stretch goal, but still. Better than nothing. I had a few bad rides, but overall, it was an easy shift. We like those.

My favorite yard sign so far

After dashing, I had some lunch and did an errand for a friend. Then I headed to Waterloo, well the Waterloo Geneva line, to get gas. Sadly the gas price at the inexpensive gas station had gone up. Still less expensive than many other gas stations in the area. I am really looking forward to not having to buy gas.

Next stop, Lowes. I got a new blade for the chainsaw. Tomorrow, youtube and I have a date to see if we can figure out how to change the blade. It ought to be relatively easy. Relative to building a rocket that is. I can’t remember if I had to put it on when I got the device a couple of years ago. Maybe? Anyway, we shall see what happens.

Next stop, Wegman’s. J or G, I’m not sure how he spells his name actually, was giving out samples of cheesecake. Always a good way to brighten one’s day. Though my day was already decently bright. I needed to get some crab meat for making the crab rangoons tonight. Since I am not dashing, I have a little more time to devote to food preparation this evening. I have made things with these wrappers before, so it oughtn’t be too difficult. If I feel sufficiently motivated, I will also make some cheese wantons. They are basically the same thing but without crab and with other stuff in them instead. I plan on adding some minced green bell pepper. Not sure what else at this point.

While I was wandering the store, a nice young woman said she liked my hair or something to that effect. That was sweet of her. I told her I liked her hair too.

My last stop was to swing by the site where my friend and handy guy, J, was working on someone else’s soffits. I was not in the least jealous. He was lending me a sledge hammer. My plan is to start staking out my property line on the West side of the house tomorrow. I have the stakes (not steaks) and I have the sledge hammer. And I have some string. No one came through with a laser pointer and I have, so far, resisted the temptation to buy one. Yes, I am a gadget person and wouldn’t mind having a laser pointer anyway. Maybe I will add it to my wishlist! (If anyone is dying to buy me things, I do have an Amazon wish list…)(someday I will figure out what the link is and add it here – along with my referral code for buying a Tesla)(who knows, anything is possible)(most things are unlikely).

At home, I tried to do a little bit of neatening for when my sort of guests arrive. Two friends of L’s are coming up for her birthday. They have stayed here a few times before so I am not too stressed about the state of the house. Though honestly, it isn’t looking too bad.

Ok, time for a bit of Duolingo and then I will start “cooking.” Though that term might be stretching it a bit where the crab rangoons are concerned…

Oh, I have decided to stop using Twitter/X altogether. They are changing the way that blocking works so that even if you block someone they can see your posts. The whole reason I block someone is because I don’t want them seeing my posts or having to see their posts. What’s the point of blocking someone if they can see your posts. Stupid, imho. But that just means I won’t use X anymore. No big loss for me. Free speech my ass…
