I was almost very late to pick JC up for our trip to see TC in Auburn. I got carried away listening to my book (DCC – The Bedlam Bride) and lost track of the time. And I forgot when exactly I needed to leave to make the timing work out. I looked at my phone and realized I needed to leave in two minutes and I was still in bed. It usually takes me about five minutes to get from bed to street, so I was late, but only by a couple of minutes. Phew!

For lunch, I had found a diner that looked interesting. TC, though, had other plans. He is a football fan. And there were, of course, games on television this afternoon. He wanted to watch the Steelers (his team) versus the Jets. So we went to a sports bar that he and JC have apparently frequented in the past.

The menu was huge! TC had a gyro (how do you pronounce that word?)(I thought it was like “yeero”). JC had a seafood sampler. And I had a turkey club – which, if I don’t take other pictures tomorrow, I will use as my picture for the blog post. We had a server who they have had before. But service was a little slow. It took them a long time to bring me my curly fries, which was weird. But everything was tasty. I didn’t eat much because I stuffed myself full with a bunch of fries. And I had a beer with lunch. I will eat more of sandwich tonight for dinner and will add a teeny salad with it. Gotta be healthy now and again. (Well, I will also have more fries…)

Seen at the Irish festival – Deep fried Reuben!!

When dropping JC off back at his home, I stopped in to check on things. Two things that I had thought I was going to do today, I have put off until tomorrow so that I can bring my laptop. I like having my laptop with me when I have electronic or computer tasks to do – and there will be two. EC also wanted me to move some stuff around in their downstairs bedroom. Looks mostly easy, though one table might be a bit awkward for me to move by myself. If it is, it won’t get moved until later, but I can handle the rest of the stuff pretty easily.

Back home, I didn’t do much of anything. I have two scammers who I am chatting with. So far, neither has made particularly obvious scammer moves – no calls to change platforms or attempts at asking me for money. So it is interesting to see where they are going. I did do a teeny bit of Duolingo, but I am in good shape this week, so I’m not worried about falling out of the Diamond League for now.

Augustus for President: I realized that I do have a lot more stuff I can do before heading off on my tour of all the State Capitals. I guess if I haven’t gotten $5k in the right bank account by the middle of January next year (2026), I will just put it in myself. I would like to be an official candidate before I start sending off press releases. Which is one of the things I will want to do before hitting the road. I am still debating with myself whether or not I want to ask people about their thoughts on the phrase “The American Dream.” If I do, I might again write to all the sitting governors and living presidents to see if any of them will participate in the project this go round. Drumpf might because he would want to be in a book. Other than that, though, probably only a few of the governors will participate.
