This truck is large, but not that large!!

Seen at Wegman’s the other day. People are not very bright if they try to sit in this vehicle. Then again…

The more I think about it, much as I admire Optimus and would like one, one day, I would really like to have a Robovan. Maybe I will keep my current Tesla (which I would love more if it were a long distance one) until Robovan is available. If a list comes out, I will add my name to it no matter the cost. The possibilities with that vehicle are pretty vast!

Last night, I was hallucinating a bit. I thought I heard my guests in their room. But no, they weren’t there. I also thought I heard a cat mewing. Craziness. I don’t have a cat. There hasn’t been a cat in this family since Tiger died back in the 1980s. There couldn’t be a cat meowing anywhere. But wait! I recalled that I had left the front door open. And the door to the side porch. Having earlier remembered about the side porch door being opened, I closed it at some point. And then i heard the caterwauling.

Sure enough, some cat had decided to investigate the side porch and I had trapped it in there. Hopefully it wasn’t there long enough to pee or poop on anything. When I opened the door from the house to the porch, the cat zipped inside. Bad kitty. Get out, I said. It headed for the kitchen, but I shooed it out and closed that door. I had already opened the door to the outside from the porch and was ushering th kitty that way. It wasn’t happy about that. Hissing and spitting ensued. But the silly thing didn’t want to go out that door, it wanted to go out the same door it had come in. So when I opened that door, bye bye kitty! Phew! I did not want to adopt a cat!!

It has been a quiet day. After using the copy function of my printer last night to do a little task for S, I took those documents to her in the morning. And that was about it for me outside, despite the weather being sunny and in the 70s! Inside, I didn’t do much. I ate some lunch, watched a bunch of YouTube videos (not the one I had told myself to watch) and generally was lumpy.

Eventually I did a few things around the house: stripped the guest bed, stripped and made my bed (with flannel sheets – I am sure after this brief warm spell, cold weather will return with a vengeance), started another load of laundry, put together the doors I had taken apart, watched the video on transcriptions (If I can do that instead of dashing, I would be thrilled) and even started the paperwork to do that gig. And Duolingo.

I am taking a break from Vikings. I have watched a couple of movies – nothing too exciting – and started a couple of series that seem ok. I think I will watch the MacGyver reboot for awhile and see how that goes. And maybe some little Anna Kendrick movie that she is promoting on Instagram.

Speaking of which, I am not missing X at all. The next step will be to delete the app. I am so angered by the change in blocking behavior I could spit.

Tonight, more Chinese food and more crab rangoons. I want to use up the stuffing I had left over from Friday. Not exciting but life is that way sometimes. I have a lot of containers of leftovers in the fridge and want to pare that number down! Wish me luck!

It’s Friday!

Yay! That many dashing shifts and days and hours closer to getting my Tesla back. Sadly, I called the car place today and they said that the Tesla would probably be ready toward the end of the day on the 23rd. Poop. I was planning on heading up there as early as I could to get the car so I didn’t have to have the icky ICE car that I have now a moment longer than I needed to. And didn’t need to use it a second more than was necessary. I mean, it goes from 0-60 in about six minutes! (Ok, that might be a slight exaggeration…) I am so done with this car…good thing I barely have to drive it between now and Monday! Woo hoo!

But, I drove it today on my only dashing shift. Did I make a boat load of money on this dash? No, but it was enough to get me to my weekly goal. Not a stretch goal, but still. Better than nothing. I had a few bad rides, but overall, it was an easy shift. We like those.

My favorite yard sign so far

After dashing, I had some lunch and did an errand for a friend. Then I headed to Waterloo, well the Waterloo Geneva line, to get gas. Sadly the gas price at the inexpensive gas station had gone up. Still less expensive than many other gas stations in the area. I am really looking forward to not having to buy gas.

Next stop, Lowes. I got a new blade for the chainsaw. Tomorrow, youtube and I have a date to see if we can figure out how to change the blade. It ought to be relatively easy. Relative to building a rocket that is. I can’t remember if I had to put it on when I got the device a couple of years ago. Maybe? Anyway, we shall see what happens.

Next stop, Wegman’s. J or G, I’m not sure how he spells his name actually, was giving out samples of cheesecake. Always a good way to brighten one’s day. Though my day was already decently bright. I needed to get some crab meat for making the crab rangoons tonight. Since I am not dashing, I have a little more time to devote to food preparation this evening. I have made things with these wrappers before, so it oughtn’t be too difficult. If I feel sufficiently motivated, I will also make some cheese wantons. They are basically the same thing but without crab and with other stuff in them instead. I plan on adding some minced green bell pepper. Not sure what else at this point.

While I was wandering the store, a nice young woman said she liked my hair or something to that effect. That was sweet of her. I told her I liked her hair too.

My last stop was to swing by the site where my friend and handy guy, J, was working on someone else’s soffits. I was not in the least jealous. He was lending me a sledge hammer. My plan is to start staking out my property line on the West side of the house tomorrow. I have the stakes (not steaks) and I have the sledge hammer. And I have some string. No one came through with a laser pointer and I have, so far, resisted the temptation to buy one. Yes, I am a gadget person and wouldn’t mind having a laser pointer anyway. Maybe I will add it to my wishlist! (If anyone is dying to buy me things, I do have an Amazon wish list…)(someday I will figure out what the link is and add it here – along with my referral code for buying a Tesla)(who knows, anything is possible)(most things are unlikely).

At home, I tried to do a little bit of neatening for when my sort of guests arrive. Two friends of L’s are coming up for her birthday. They have stayed here a few times before so I am not too stressed about the state of the house. Though honestly, it isn’t looking too bad.

Ok, time for a bit of Duolingo and then I will start “cooking.” Though that term might be stretching it a bit where the crab rangoons are concerned…

Oh, I have decided to stop using Twitter/X altogether. They are changing the way that blocking works so that even if you block someone they can see your posts. The whole reason I block someone is because I don’t want them seeing my posts or having to see their posts. What’s the point of blocking someone if they can see your posts. Stupid, imho. But that just means I won’t use X anymore. No big loss for me. Free speech my ass…

On the road again…

Today I got back on the road. And it was…underwhelming. I did a lot of dashes, but many of them were low tip. I did get a $4 cash tip for no discernible reason – as the person had already tipped on the app. And I found four pennies in the drive through lane at Wendy’s. I guess someone doesn’t like pennies. Their loss, my gain! Only $0.96 to go before I reach a dollar saved from money found on the ground. Ok, maybe a lot less than that, since the other day I found two dimes on the ground. People are weird.

Taken because of the pumpkins – but better Kamala than Drumpf!

I did a second dash this evening. I was determined to dash later and hopefully make more money and catch up a bit for missing all of Monday. Today was not a banner day in terms of money making. That sucks. But I survived. And I didn’t take too many terrible trips. Well, ok, most of them were bad, but none were horrendous. I got to see a dasher I have spoken to quite a few times. And met a new to me dasher. I also realized that I really don’t like dashing after dark. So, no late night dashing for me, I guess.

I had decided at some point today that I would buy some Chinese food tonight. I have fried rice, egg rolls, spring rolls, and dumplings here at the house. So if I want appetizers with Chinese food, I’ve got them. But I didn’t have entree level food. After the lackluster, though inexpensive, saucy nuggs from the grocery store, I chose to get fresh cooked Chinese food. I asked Austin which beef dish was most purchased and he said Garlic Sauce beef. So that’s what I got. I also got the Indian pancakes with curry dipping sauce. Still as good as I remembered. Minus the potato this time. I have enough of tonight’s food purchase for at least three more meals. With sides and such, maybe enough for five more meals. Yippee? But it is all tasty, so it isn’t too onerous.

If I already mentioned this, please take it as a sign of Alzheimer’s – I made $5.05 in returns the other day. I think that at least $1 of that, if not more, was from picking up cans from my dashing and such.

Maybe I will branch out in flavors of chicken wings at home. I might try parmesan garlic. I’m not sure what else to try. Any suggestions are welcome. I just looked at one recipe and it only used garlic powder. I will definitely be adding some minced or pressed garlic to mine!

I also think at some point I will go back to Otis and Red’s pizza and see what their deals are around pizza and wings.

Who is going to make fried wontons with stuff inside them? I am! Definitely some crab rangoons. And maybe some other stuffed wontons – cheese maybe? Anything else?

Here’s a shocker. I found something I actually like about the icky ICE car that I have been saddled with: the sun visor slides so that it can cover more of the driver’s side window! I like that a lot. I hope Tesla will adapt that. Hahahahaha.

Ok, that’s it. I am all caught up. I did some Duolingo, I had dinner and now I have finished my blog post for the day. And such a pithy post. Er…
