Weekend Excitement!

Just to let you know, that although I try to get every blog post out at around 7 pm my time, it doesn’t always happen. And I am sure that when I start campaigning full time, posts will become more sporadic in terms of times being posted. I still hope and plan to blog every day. But when I am on the road for five hours plus a day, that may cause some scheduling problems for blog publishing. No worries, though, I don’t head off into the wilds of the country until February next year. So for now, it will only be a challenge when I actually am getting out and about socially. Like tomorrow night. The blog post will be written – but I don’t know when and I don’t know when it will be published. Thank you for your understanding!

Today was one of my weekend days – no dashing! Woo hoo! Instead, it was a bill paying day. First up, paying my school taxes. I am almost 65 and from something I read or heard or something, school taxes, at least in NYS, go way, way down once one reaches 65. At least that is what I am hoping. They are insane at this point. I gave them a check which won’t bounce. Though I wouldn’t be upset if it did. Education in this country, Geneva included, is less than optimal. Grrr.

Next stop was Living Center South to chat with EC and JC for a little bit. We have plans for the upcoming week and I wanted to get them on board. And EC had a library book that needed returning. And since I live within walking distance of the colleges’ library, I happily agreed to take it back for her. I like to do my errands in a non-overlappy sort of way. Is that weird?

From there, I headed to the public library (not the same library as mentioned above) to pick up a book I had forgotten I put on hold. I guess I will have to read that in a timely fashion. I think the other two library books I have out aren’t as popular, so they will probably auto renew. The speech book is taking a long time to read. Mostly because Door Dash has kept me on the move most of the time in the last two weeks. Which is, of course, a mixed blessing.

My last stop before heading home was a quick trip to the Dollar store. For reasons.

At home, I did some puttering, washing dishes and such. And I did some searching on the internet. And before I knew it, it was time to head to SM’s to help her out before dinner.

She needed to check in for her flight for tomorrow (the one I am taking her to in the morning). But it wasn’t working. Turns out there was a small mistype which was preventing us from getting to her record. A nice American Airlines support person fixed the problem and waited till we were successful in getting to her record. Five stars for them!

Dinner at the German Restaurant in Canandaigua

Neither of us had given thought to where we wanted to go for dinner. We ended up choosing to go to the German restaurant in Canandaigua. A bit of a drive, but neither of us was in a terrific hurry. Sadly, neither was the kitchen or our server. We got there and waited. And then waited some more for our server. And then more for her to bring our salads. Eventually we were fed. I, of course, brought back a lot of the food. Easily enough for dinner on Monday night! The potato pancakes weren’t as good as they have been in the past which was unfortunate, but overall the meal was tasty and the conversation flowed smoothly! Huzzuh!

Now I am home. Duolingo is done and soon this blog post will be too. I need to get up and out in a timely fashion tomorrow to get SM to her flight. And then it will be shopping for me. I haven’t heard back from either of my helpers, which is irksome. No common courtesy any more. Sigh.

Tomorrow, it is also concert time! And dinner. I plan to get to Turning Stone a bit early and scope out the places to eat. DM mentioned a place she thought sounded interesting, so I will definitely put that one at the top of my list. And then the concert. I hope I don’t sleep during it. If it were a dance or ballet concert, I would definitely nap for the first half hour. This concert, no idea.

Augustus for President: I have started to research bad policies or decisions that presidents made during my lifetime. Partly looking for things I would like to reverse. Like the bill that allowed insurance companies to enter health care. And the bill that got rid of the fairness doctrine in broadcasting. Both happened during Nixon I think. But I will keep looking. And I have also started researching each president’s finances before entering the white house and when leaving the white house. Lastly, I looked at more AV stuff…

Lucky Me!

Has everyone but me heard of Puydu Fou? I must go. It is an Amusement Park/Theme Park in Western France. It looks really, really cool to me. I do enjoy Theme Parks/Amusement Parks!

I watched the first season of Untamed. It was barely ok. The writing was bad. The lead actor was kinda wooden. And there were way too many coincidences. I do not recommend it. Except for the beautiful scenery.

Tonight, I am going to watch some of Fisk – an Australian SitCom.

It was a two dash day. The first dash was kinda slow. I wouldn’t have made my basic amount if not for a final, long drive. I swear, door dash often gives me a long last dash when it thinks I will be quitting soon. And it is often just enough that I have a hard time turning it down. Though I did turn down one offer today – $5.50 for 12 miles. Nope. Not going to do that crap.

During my lunch break, I quickly accomplished the few things I had on my reminders list. Though a couple of them I postponed till later in the week. And a few others call for research that I probably won’t do until I am starting to actually have campaign events. More below.

The second dash started off with a bang! Nine bags of stuff from Wegman’s for the Army/National Guard? over in Waterloo! The total they paid me was higher than the amount that they showed in the offer. So I was basically done after that. Though I kept dashing until almost 6 anyway. Then I stopped and went to Wegmans to pick up some stuff for me.

No exciting plans for the evening. I do have a bunch of stuff I would like to do tomorrow. Like pay bills. And do some banking. I’ll probably pay the tax bill. And I don’t know what else. The exciting, to me, day is still Saturday. Shopping in Rochester and then going to a concert with DM at Turning Stone Saturday evening. Hopefully with dinner before hand! If that is the case, I will probably head out around 4:30 pm for a maybe 6 pm dinner?

Augustus for President: As I keep moving forward with tortoise steps, telling more and more people that I am running for President, I am getting more and more excited. I know that me actually winning the presidency at this point seems like the same chances of me winning the lottery – 1 in 285,000,000. But unlike the lottery, I can change that ratio through hard work and communication.

Anyway, I think I will start having small events starting in late October (after I have a visit with my sister and maybe my brother) or early November. Maybe a meeting at the Gelato place. Maybe at Lake Drum. Maybe at the Welcome Center. And then start having events in other cities nearby – like Rochester, Syracuse and Ithaca. And keep having events until it is time for me to leave for my first nationwide presidential campaign tour.

I doubt I will have events on the tour beyond little events on the steps of the various Capital buildings. Unless by that time I have some staff and someone can start scheduling actual events in each of the cities I will be visiting on this tour. Is it February yet?

Ought or Should

There are probably lots of things that I ought to be doing. Or should be doing even. I just don’t really want to do any of them. Like cataloguing. Or cleaning. Or sorting. So much to do and I am not doing any of it. Bwahahahaha. (That is diabolical laughter.)

And there are other things that I could be doing. Like playing the piano. Or being creative in some way. But again, I am not doing any of that.

I woke up a little later than I normally do and decided I was going to get some reading done. So that’s what I did. I read until around 11 when my reminders reminded me that I wanted to separate and freeze the chicken wings and one bag of meatballs. Two wings to a bag. And three meatballs, plus one had an extra. In three of the meatball bags I added BBQ sauce. I wanted to use up those two bottles I bought a long while ago. Mission accomplished.

Everything all bagged!

After I finished bagging, I did a light yoga. Then ate some lunch. It has been a long time since I have put (garlic) hummus center stage in my lunches. I had forgotten just how yummy it was! I was even dipping my potato chips into the hummus today. (On a side note, why are potato chips so delicious? It can’t just be the salt…)

And after that, reading. Lots of reading. I have basically been reading for about 3 hours! And yes, the book is interesting enough for me to have read that much and still want to read more.

Oh, I turned down two concert tickets tonight. Was that crazy of me? I don’t think so. Since I hadn’t planned on going out, I didn’t want to go out. The concert wasn’t going to be at the Smith, so I could have gone. I just didn’t feel like it. But if I am to change my relationship status, I need to do different things. And that would have been different. Then again, it was a concert. And I didn’t have anyone to really ask to go with me. I mean, I guess I could have asked MT but I anticipate rejection from her, so I didn’t put myself out there. Sigh. Oh well. More time to read.

I have done my Duolingo, Italian today. I am in a group aiming for a “tournament.” I rarely try hard to qualify for the tournaments. They are mostly the haunt of tryhards. And if you have spent a long time on reading my blogs, you know that I am not a fan of tryhards. At least that leaves the regular league levels with fewer of them for a few days…

Next up, pizza and wings and a salad, I guess. Definitely pizza and wings…and then maybe some TV (generic for watching anything on any device or platform – is there a better word?). Maybe more reading. Time will tell.
