Another of those darn Productive Days

Me at maybe 5 years old? Kindergarten maybe?

In sorting through a box of assorted crap, mostly computer and phone related cables, I came upon a lanyard that I got back in 2018. A Kennedy Space Center lanyard. I thought maybe it would be good to use with my Presidential (in content, maybe not in style and class) name badge. Sadly, the lanyard was too long in its current configuration. If I decide to use it, it will have to be shortened. The lanyard put the badge at below my waist level…

In this same sorting, I came across a few CDs. I am going to try and find my external CD/DVD drive for my laptop and see if I can upload these CDs to my computer. If I haven’t already. They could be ones that I already added to my personal library. They aren’t. I checked. And I found the drive but the special cables for it have gone missing. Sigh.

Lots of little things to do today. A couple of car things – WD-40 the windshield wipers and put rain-ex on all of the external cameras. (see below) I want to unbox my tape measure. (see below) Clean out my email. (Done) Maybe watch some of a documentary about the Kogie people in the Andes mountains. (Probably not) And maybe start work on a graphic for the trip. (Hopefully later tonight) We shall see how far along we get on this todo list on this “doing” Sunday.

I tried to turn my new tape measure on and it wasn’t working. I unscrewed the battery cover and discovered the reason. No batteries. And it didn’t ship with batteries. What the heck is that about? How expensive would it to be to add a couple of AAA batteries? Sigh. Anyway, it is working now and is totally cool. Turn it on, zap the laser and it tells you how far away something is. Wow. And I just changed the Units to Feet. I wonder if there is a Feet and Inches option instead of the Feet and decimal parts of a foot. How many inches is .34 feet? (about four inches I guess…)

It is too cold and wet to do the WD-40 windshield wipers thing today. And it doesn’t look like the weather is going to be any better in the next 10 days. So, maybe I will take the WD-40 with me on the road and when the weather gets warm enough, do the WD-40 thing on the wiper blades then. This is something that I saw on YouTube that looked like it made sense.

Well, triple poo. My 2022 Tesla Model 3 must be from the beginning of the year because it has the old computer chip and the old AI/FSD computer. Why is that triple poo? It just is. Ok, it’s because a) I can’t run FSD, b) I can’t run Grok and c) it just sucks for those two reasons. So maybe it is only a double 💩

Such good stuff got done today overall. Yes, it is cold and wet and unpleasant outdoors. But inside the house it isn’t so bad. I have done most of my todo list. Then I got a message from the system saying that Apple wanted to update my laptop’s system. But there wasn’t enough room. I decided to see what all was taking up so much space. One thing was a movie that I downloaded a long time ago from when I was working at the Smith. Trashed it. Then there were some other movies from other times of my life. I am saving those to my super large thumb drive. One of them, it turns out, has the Alice in Wonderland scene/ movie on it. Actually there might be three copies of it on my computer at this point. The name of the file was deceptive which is why I couldn’t find it. The file was called DVD Video Recorder. What it is is a digitized version of a VCR tape that was sent to me when I asked to have a bunch of old home movies (and Alice) transferred from 8mm and super 8mm film to video tape. Because at the time, there wasn’t much in the way of large inexpensive storage for computers besides video tape – back in the early 2000s I think. Maybe as late as 2012. Maybe. Anyway, the good news is that I found the Alice thing and will be posting it on YouTube at some point in the not too distant future. How exciting is that? Let me answer that question for you. Very exciting!!

Oops, I started copying more large files onto my huge thumb drive (two terrabytes) and it is taking forever. Luckily I can do other things while they are copying in the background.

It is getting onto the third part of the day. I am about to do my Duolingo. And then I will make some dinner. More chicken and asparagus I think. Debating the salad and french fries…

Augustus for President: After dinner, I think I will start working on the multimedia part of my 50+1 Capital Tour (which is going to cost me around $12k if I had to guess – maybe more). I plan to post on YouTube, Facebook, and Threads. I don’t know about TikTok. Or X (🤮). Oh, and Blue Sky. Anyplace else that people who vote might see the posts?

I feel like I am making some good progress on both the campaign and in preparations for the trip. I am still sad that I can’t find anyone crazy enough, er, smart enough to come on this once (well, twice for me so far) tour of all 50 states. Frustrating.

Shameless appeal for money: Bernie raised about $200m in each of his two campaigns. I don’t think he had super pacs or anything like that besides the amount he and his campaign raised. That seems like a good target for the end of next week. Hahaha, just joking. I have much smaller goals. I would like to raise $5000 as quickly as I can. If I can raise that much, I think I can raise whatever else is needed, eventually.

Yes, I would love your support. Those who have supported me thus far (both of you), thank you. Those who haven’t – each person can give up to $3300 per candidate per election. Just saying…(link is the name of this section above)

Successful Day!

Wow, what a day! I have made it through another really tough day. Er…

Ok, so it wasn’t all that tough a day. And I did almost nothing. Go me. What the fuck is going on with me?

I guess I am just in one of those cycles where I am feeling really unmovitvated or really overwhelmed. Or maybe both at the same time. Yes, I took a few baby steps forward today. Ok, maybe one or two baby steps. But nothing that really felt like I was moving towards any recognizable goal.

What did I do? I took a shower. That’s a good thing. And I ate some lunch. Woo hoo. Oh, I took a pair of chicken wings out of the freezer so that I can make buffalo wings for dinner with my frozen pizza tonight

I did do something for JC and EC. I called a moving company the CC had found, based out of Rochester, which gives free estimates. But in order to do that, they request a walk through with a phone that can stream video (which is most modern phones I think). So I called them, then called JC and talked about availability. And then called the moving company people again to set up an appointment for Monday. I will head down to their house and do the walkthrough with/for EC and JC.

A small task, but one I put in my phone to do, was to get the charging cable out of the car and bring it into the house where it could warm up before I re-rolled it and put it back in its case. Woo hoo!

In neatening up my room yesterday, I also started to try to move forward on the picture sorting and scanning that I have been doing. I found pictures from a roll of film from early in my time here in Geneva this last time – from around 2011 I think. Unfortunately WalMart did not time stamp either the pictures or the thumbnails. And of course, I made no notes on the envelope. Grrrr.

I had a realization or two. And a political thought or two – see below in the Augustus for President section for the thoughts.

The realization I had was that I could, if I wanted, go to two trivias a week for the month of January. I probably won’t do that, but I might go to the Wednesday night one a couple of times. And maybe the Thursday night one a couple of times. We shall see.

The other realization isn’t so much a realization but an awareness that I might be able to do some more things to aid me in keeping myself young and spry. Thank you YouTube for lots of interesting information.

And that, my friends is about it. That is what I did with my day. Not so much, sadly.

Last night’s easy dinner – I made up about four table spoons of BBQ sauce for the meatballs

Augustus for President: I am still stuck in a couple of places. This morning I had planned to file my paperwork for becoming an official candidate for president with the FEC. I had hard copies of the forms and filled those out to the best of my ability. But I had and have questions. I thought that maybe the FEC wouldn’t be working today, so I have put calling them off until Monday, when I will hope to file – probably electronically. I don’t think there is a fee.

The other place I am stuck is on the whole business end. I know I need a credit card for the campaign. A debit card won’t cut it just as the only money in the campaign is my own personal funds. And I need an accounting application as the FEC is much more rigorous in keeping track of campaign funds than I am with keeping track of my own funds. I am trying to decide between a regular accounting system like Quickbooks and one that is designed and tailored more specifically towards campaigns. And my mind whirls.

Is 2026 Over yet?

Last night, SM gave me two Christmas gifts. I didn’t give her anything and I feel a bit bad about that. Not hugely, because she has everything she wants I believe. Anyway, she gave me a cool mug that has a QR code on it that takes me to a daily trivia question (and answer). And she gave me a really cool immersion blender set! I have always wanted one. I mentioned once or twice that I was envious of hers.

I’m the luckiest

It has been another quiet day here at the chalet. Surprisingly I did accomplish a few things.

I started emptying out the trunk of the car after the trip to Maine. I think I have almost all of the crap out. And I need to get the charging cable out of the back seat of the car. I think the Frunk doesn’t have anything important in it just now. I’ll have to remember to check.

Next, I did some neatening in my bedroom. This is a monthly or even every other month sort of task. The floor is not cord free, otherwise I would run a Roomba in here. I might do it anyway and see what happens. There is a lot of dust in here.

My receipts from last year all went into a plastic bag. I don’t think I need any of those receipts for my taxes. I might need one or two if I didn’t manage to sort them out and put them in the campaign finance drawer. And I started collecting receipts for the new year.

Why do I have a receipt already? I went to the grocery store. I wanted to get my self generated traditional NYE celebration supplies: Sparkling something – sometimes I get sparkling wines, this time I got some sparkling apple juice, Borsin, Smoked Mussels, Fancy Crackers. I also ended up getting some eggs since mine somehow magically got used up while I was gone (I think I still had at least 6 in there – whatever I don’t really care – it is just sad that my boarder said nothing about using them or replacing them). And I bought some curly fries – one can never have enough curly fries – and a frozen pizza that I might well have for dinner tomorrow night.

Tonight, I am making a light pasta and meatballs dinner so I have room to have a NYE type snacking session later tonight. So excited!

Augustus for President: After I get an accounting system – hopefully one that doesn’t cost an arm and a leg – I will go back and enter the expenses into expense sheets and see if I can reconcile the bank balance with all the stuff I spent money on and some of which I reimbursed myself for. I also plan to fill out a hard copy of the FEC forms tomorrow and then see how one enters them online. If I don’t get any farther than actually registering as a candidate for the 2028 elections, I will have gotten farther than most people in an attempt to become President of the US.

I looked on the internet to see how Presidents ranked in terms of IQ. According to the sites I looked at, all the presidents have had decent brains. Even Drumpf. Which was an abosolute shocker to me. One site rated him at 124 to 145. Hahahahaha. I doubt he ever had an IQ higher than 95. If that one is so inflated, I take all the others with a grain of salt as well. I mean, GW Bush had a 135 IQ? Hahaha. No. And Ronald Reagan 130? Again, nope. I don’t believe any of those three’s estimated scores. I may not be the smartest person on the planet (by a long way) but I know that I am smarter than Drumpf, GW Bush and Reagan. (Not combined, but…)

Sweet! Dude!!

It feels like home here at my sister’s house. I was just lying on the bed in the guest room and I went to turn on the bedside light. And I reached for the extension switch that I have in my bedroom at home. It wasn’t there, obviously.

I got up this morning and did a lot of nothing. Well, I had some thoughts. And I did some little chores. So, I guess I did something. And I convinced J to let me make dinner tonight. Which prompted a trip into Belfast.

I had three missions in Belfast. Pizza for lunch. Foiled. The pizza place that I like – one of my favorite pizzas currently, is closed on Mondays. Maybe Tuesday too, I don’t recall. Anyway, no pizza for you. I also wanted to see if the odlest shoe store in America, where I bought my current favorite pair of shoes – Olukai, had some Olukai short boots. They didn’t. They had lots of other brands. But no Olukia. Foiled. And lastly, I wanted to go to the grocery store and get the ingredients for the dinner tonight.

On the way, I stopped at a Chinese restaurant and picked up a quart of vegetable fried rice. I had been toying with the idea of rice with dinner and decided that instead of trying to make some (J does not have a rice cooker I don’t believe) and then adulterating it, I would just buy some. The counter person ws very nice and spoke Chinese with me.

At the grocery store, I found everything that I needed. I also found things I didn’t need and bought those too. It’s only money. At least I got all the ingredients for making Sweet and Sour pork. I hope it turns out ok. The meals I prepare here are hit or miss. And I haven’t made this dish before. Well, not recently. And not with this particular recipe. We shall see. I am going to do my best to follow the recipe as closely as I can.

Dinner

The meal turned out pretty well. We all had seconds even! I think the sweet (dude) and sour pork could have used a bit more garlic, but since I was using garlic in a tube, I couldn’t really measure the equivalent amount to what the recipe asked for. I am, though, a garlic fan in most cases, so needing more garlic could have just been a me thing. I also think a smidgeon more ginger would have been ok. All in all, I will call this meal a success. Woo hoo!

Augustus for President: I think one reason the whole country is no longer as unified as it seemed in the past is because there is no unifying media. And that is part of the reason that MAGA is unified – they have Fox news. There really is no equivalent on the left. And there certainly isn’t one in the center. Back in the old days, the lack of unifying media was unifying. Newspapers were ubiquitous. Then radio came along and there weren’t a lot of radio stations and everyone listened to the same stuff. And the same with television, up until the proliferation of stations that happened in the late 70s. Until then, there were basically three TV stations and people all watched the same news, the same entertainment, the same sports. Now, not so much. Can we make a US media outlet? Like Fox News, but unbiased? Playing 24 hours a day. With national news mostly. And international news. Maybe each state has a ten minute round-up of their local news. I think this is a brilliant idea. Then again, I think all of my ideas are brilliant. Sigh.

I love talking about the campaign. And the issues. Just saying…

Sort of Handy

I am reluctantly handy. My first response when I have an issue is – Eeeek. Then I think if I can handle it or if it is better handled by someone else. Someone with actual skills in the handy skills arena. This evening I was presented with an issue. Eeek.

When I took my laundry down to start the regular Sunday load, I bumped my head on a pipe that I don’t usually bump my head on. Confused, I looked to see what the problem was. The duct had come away from where it connected to the duct (not the right word) that leads fumes out of the basement and up and out the chimney. This duct was connected to a piece of equipment that is no longer in use (which reminds me, someday I need to make sure that the gas line to that device has been sealed). So it wasn’t necessary. A few well placed yanks resulted in the duct being completely removed from the main room of the basement. Including the bit in front of the washer and dryer upon which I banged my little noggin.

The larger problem was that a hole was thus exposed. I decided I wanted to seal it for the time being until I could get a qualified handy person to take a look and see what they can do about it. I thought about sticking something over the whole and then using duct tape (for its actual purpose) to seal it closed. Nothing in the vicinity looked to do the trick. So, after cleaning off the top of the chimney targeting duct (by judicious use of duct tape (yeah, it didn’t stick because it was so dirty on top of the duct)) I managed to get some tape to stick. And sealed the whole. Ta dah! I have done my handy duties for the year. Good thing that I did this before the year was over!! 2026 look out!

Good enough for Government Work…

Although I haven’t done much, I feel like I have been much more productive today than I was yesterday. More thoughts and more actions make Augustus a happier camper. I have clean sheets, I’m clean and a load of laundry is working itself through the system. I have done a few books. And I have done some work on my candidacy. Always a learning experience. Yay learning!

Soon it will be left over Chinese food time. Then I will hunker down and do more books and more thoughts.

Augustus for President: I am making some progress on assigning tasks in the thoughts database. Not really sure who to assign quotes I have put in the database to. Maybe I will make an assignment category that says Quotes or something like that. So, no one will be assigned. Or maybe I will leave it as me. Though I also want to use the quotes during events. And speeches. Sigh. Life is so complicated in some ways. Simple in others.

I looked at the CVs of the Political Science people at HWS and two look like they would be a good fit. I will write them on Monday and see what response, if any, I get. I wonder if I have an HWS email address. I doubt it. I wonder if as an alumnus I can get one. Probably not. But it doesn’t hurt to ask.

Silly Roomba

Last night, when I was sitting down to have a long interesting chat with my boarder, I tried to turn on some lights in the living room. I haven’t been using that room much since the boarder arrived – the TV noise goes right up the stairs. So, I tried turning on some lights. And none of them worked. Sigh…Today I tried to figure out why. One of the lights was just being flaky. Not sure what that is about. But I got it working. The other, not so much. And when I investigated, I discovered that the ancient cord had been well and throughly eaten and broken apart by the ever ernest roomba at some point. I really liked that lamp so maybe one day I will try to rewire it. For now, it has been removed to the pit, er, basement.

My next helper from the colleges came today. He arrived early even! Great start. I gave him a tour of the problem areas and he didn’t seem daunted. I try to let people do what they want to do and he chose to work on finishing the painting in the back stairs. Huzzuh! He has left now and what he did looks pretty good. I haven’t decided if he is a keeper or not. We shall see…

I had a lovely chat with my sister, who is in the midst of preparing to teach a class on Middlemarch (not a book with which I am familiar except by name). She mentioned that their dog had died, which was sad. Now they are dogless. 😦 At least they still have Nina the cat to keep them company.

Seen while out and about

I have done my Duolingo and will be having pizza, wings and a salad for dinner tonight. Woo hoo! Though pork chops are in my future at some point…

Augustus for President – I tried to see what online web survey place does good polling and I coudn’t find one. I am asking for a lot, I know. I want to provide a list of possible merchandise with an “other” spot. Each time someone adds an “other” I want that to be added to the list and another “other spot” to be generated. I doubt I will find a site that does that. But hope springs eternal. Meanwhile, I have started going through past blogs and collecting any presidential thoughts. Turns out that I started this process in early July. On the third, sadly, and not the Fourth of July. Poo. I think it will be interesting (to me at least) to see the evolution of the campaign.

Too Full to Breathe…

I thought that might happen. Darn it! I had to waddle into the house from the car after dinner just now. Sigh.

How did we get to this state? It comes from people being way too nice to me.

This morning, I got up around 7 am (ick) and didn’t do much until one of my helpers came. He did some painting. And he did decently. At least he cleans up after himself without me having to nag him. My other helper isn’t here just now – it is his summer break after all, so maybe he will come help eventually. We shall see. But with at least this one helper, I think I can get a lot of the painting accomplished. That is a good thing! And it is coming in small chunks so it doesn’t feel like I am spending money like water.

I had to cut him loose around noon so I could go help JC out a bit. It was that time of month again, bill paying time, so I went and did that. Then I helped them all out with how to use their TV etc. And then JC and I headed to Auburn for lunch with TC. I let TC pick the venue and I was surprised that he chose Curly’s over the prison place. I might have to look online and see if there are more lunch/brunch places to experiment with. Maybe we can find an even better place that we all like. Curly’s is ok overall. But…I like sitting outside there and the patio was closed for a special event. And I wasn’t a huge fan of our server today. He forgot my water (after asking three times) and my ranch dressing (default Augustus dipping sauce for french fries). I don’t know. He just left me unimpressed. Oh well.

Next stop, Wegman’s. I didn’t have anything on my shopping list. And I was disappointed because there were no food tasting stations around. I guess they only happen on Saturdays now. Still, I like that Wegmans and had a pleasant time just wandering around. I was surprised to see how huge some of their lobsters were! I saw one that looked like it was almost three pounds!!

After dropping TC back at his house, I took JC back to his house before heading to my house and lying down because I was too full from lunch. Yes, I only ate half of my sandwich (not even half, actually) and most of the fries. Still, I ate too much and was feeling quite full. I hoped that I would at least have enough room to act hungry when I headed to dinner with SM and RP.

I wasn’t. Not remotely. Sigh. We went to Bella’s Steakhouse. The person who sat us, put us in a room that was almost empty, except for someone “singing” and someone who I think was his partner/wife. He was loud and did not have a great voice. So, we asked to move. And we did. Into another room. We could still, unfortunately, hear him warbling away, but it was much less painful in our new location.

What I was sort of looking for on the menu was a salad with cut up beef on top. I did not find that. But one of the specials was flank steak covered with cheese, onions and peppers as an open faced sandwich. And instead of fries, I got their twice cooked potato. It had been a long time since I have eaten one in a restaurant so I wanted to see how they made theirs. The meals came with a salad bar. Eeek! I made a teeny salad – maybe a third of a salad plate’s worth and ate that. And then I had maybe 3 bites of the steak sandwich and two bites of the Twice baked potato. And I was stuffed! Super stuffed! Talk about waddling. I ought to have asked for an uber to come and carry me to my car!

Dinner at Bella’s

Somehow I made it home and am now trying my best to let my food digest a good bit. That would be nice.

At some point, I will actually get up and do my Sunday chores: strip and make the bed, do a load of laundry and take a shower. Wish me luck!

Augustus for President: I talked about this a lot today. My captive audience, JC asked some good questions, to which I actually had answers. TC even agreed that I have always been a leader – he remembered me being such back in 1970s. I pointed out also that running an organization of many diverse parts is exactly what a theatre director does. Anyway, baby steps. Oh, and our server asked me about my badge (thank you again PvK for the lanyards!) and I might have gotten another vote. Does that put me at twelve? And I have upped the number of votes I need to get in the General election to 71 million. Tomorrow, EIN number and opening of a bank account. I think. I wonder if I can open a bank account over the phone…

One decent one!!

It is errands and chores day! And the weather is brilliant! Woo hoo.

Guess who is actually sitting out on his glassed in side porch! That’s right, it is I, or me. But how did I get here? That is the story of the morning.

I woke up early this morning and went back to sleep. I didn’t need to get out until my regular time, even though I was not going to be doing my regular dashing duties. First up, take my bike to the bike place to get happy.

It turns out that I haven’t ridden my bike, nor used my bike rack, since I got my Tesla. I got the rack attached, barely, and somehow managed to lose the little strap that is used to help the front wheel not waggle around. Maybe the bike store has one I can purchase. (Yay!! I didn’t lose it. It was in the pocket of my shorts!) Anyway, I started to back up and the poor Tesla was confused and thought I was backing up into something. Sigh.

At the bike store, they suggested that I do a level two service, get a new chain, and get a spoke fixed on one of my wheels. It will be ready tomorrow.

Next stop, the bank And no, they had no $2s. What is up with that?

On my way to the grocery store, I dropped two books off at the library. I still have two on hand. The one I am reading now is, surprisingly, a post apocalypse novel. I haven’t gotten very far into it yet, but it is interesting. I have two more books on hold at the library. Both seem to be taking forever for the other people to read. Sigh.

I got home and started cleaning out my email – a weekly exercise. Down from 300+ to 24. I really need to clean out a few of those 24 as well. Someday.

Off to pick A up and take him to his car. He has to take it to Canandaigua for repairs. Why he is going so far, I have no idea. Later, I will be picking him up and returning him to Living Center. As I was driving home, I remembered what else I was planning on doing today: shopping!!

On my list – mostly just more curtain rods. I think if I am going to be spending a lot of time on the porch again this summer, which is definitely the plan, I thought it would be wise to hang a few curtains. I am starting with the window behind which I sit. And the two doors to the front porch. And while I was shopping, I bought an inexpensive TV for the porch. Way too many TVs in the house now. But I’m ok with that.

At home, I started to set up the TV and was going to put the curtain rods up. I discovered that my electric drill (for drilling pilot holes) didn’t have any juice. It is plugged in now. While waiting for that, I will continue setting up the new TV.

And all done for now with TV setup! Good thing I know my passwords!!

I am not a fan of spitting in general. I don’t do it a lot generally. But the DNA test that I am doing with Ancestry.com required me to expectorate into a tube. Fun times. I will drop that in the mail tonight. So excited to find out what sort of a mutt I truly am! Though apparently it may take as long as 6 weeks!

Ok, I have done my good deed for the day. Yes, I was paid for it, but it was still a good deed. Go me! Rah! Now all I want to do is make my pizza and wings for dinner. Which I will do soon.

It looks, according to the weather report, that my thought of spending more time on the porch will be a little premature. It looks like next week – or maybe even the next ten days (though, weather forecasts that far out aren’t always that accurate) the high temp is going in the high 50s. Which is way too cold to hang out on the porch – imho. Poo. I was hoping that summer weather was actually starting.

Ok, time to do a little Duolingo (very little) and then make dinner. So excited!

No Comfort Food Today!

Not Comfort Food

I had a grilled cheese sandwich for lunch today. And some soup. Someone I told thought that it was comfort food. Nope, not in this case. It was “getting rid of stuff” food. I saw that I still had a slice of monterey jack cheese left over from when I made patty melts all those weeks ago. I wanted to use it up – if it hadn’t become more moldy than cheesy. Turns out, it was more moldy than cheesy, so it got toassed. I also had some extra sharp cheddar, so that formed the basis of the cheese. I toyed with the idea of adding cream cheese to the sandwich, but found the container still sealed. So I left it that way. I did add some pickles to the sandwich – almost done with that jar. And I used two slices of white bread that has been around for a while. Only a few more pieces left. Yay freezers!

It has been a day filled with getting things done. Well, once I got out of bed that is. I had the above mentioned lunch, made my bed with fresh flannel space sheets, did two loads of laundry (one load of which was just a quilt), a shower, a call to my lovely sister (who I caught napping!) and sent off my tax documents to my brother since he has been silly enough to agree to do my taxes once again. And I bugged him about helping my fellow dasher with her taxes as he said he was willing to do them as well. And I have spent way too much time chatting with people online who probably aren’t really the people in their pictures. And some who might be, but are only interested in chatting with me if I send them money or things. Sigh. Someday I will be in a healthy relationship with a real person again. Anything is possible.

Well, that was anticlimactic. I was going to see if I could salvage anything from the avocado and the pomegranate from SM. And, the answers were: no and no. The avocado was mostly bad. I could have gotten maybe two spoonfuls (spoonsful) out of it. And the pomegranate might have been salvageable if I was up for a lot of work. Which I wasn’t. Maybe they will both sprout. Hahaha. So it is back to thinking deep thoughts until taco time. Yes, I am making tacos tonight. I am going to try deep frying a flour tortilla again. Last time I didn’t fry it nearly enough and it was still almost completely floppy.

I have decided that I am going to cook my own duck at some point soon. The duck I have been getting from the Asia Market up in Rochester just didn’t taste as good to me this last time. I don’t know why. Maybe they changed their recipe. Or maybe my taste buds changed. Or both? Or something else entirely. Who knows. All I know is that I am going to give that a break and just make one myself at home. Not sure if I am going to go for Chinese or French style…

Ok, taco time! I am aiming for two corn tortillas and one flour tortilla. Wish me luck!
