Ribs and Things

Last night I made 3 lbs of ribs for dinner. They turned out pretty well. And I have enough leftovers for days. I will start eating them on Monday. I have dinner plans tonight. Not plans with someone (poo), I just have food that is leftover that needs to be eaten. And tomorrow night I am having dinner with SM. After helping her with her tech issues. Anyway, I had two different BBQ sauces and used each on half of the ribs. I made way too many fries. I guess. Sigh. Can there ever really be too many fries? Baked beans (one of my comfart, er, comfort foods. Not that I needed comforting). And some coleslaw. Store bought. All in all a tasty meal! Woo hoo! And not that much work, really.

My meal last night

I woke up this morning and started to play. And that’s what I did most of the day. I even retrained one of my characters. I have two more to retrain. And it looks like each retraining costs more and more. Good thing I only have two that I need to retrain! I am almost caught up to where I was before i started over. And I think I am in a better spot in terms of character development, weaponry, armor, health, etc. The next bit (after the bit I am in right now) is a tough part. I have to defeat the gippers (people living with a weird Ronald Reagan based philosophy). And there are a lot of them! Sigh. We shall see how everything is going after I finish these next two bits. Which I will probably do tonight.

I took two breaks. Well, three, I guess. One was for lunch. I made myself another tasty grilled cheese sandwich. I even had a pickle with it. (I found that I had a lone pickle sitting in a jar in the fridge. It’s now in my belly.) Then I took a break that included reading the last bit of the second Emily Wilde books. I am looking forward to the third, which is sitting on the floor of my bedroom. But I will read the first book in the new to me series first. Variety, don’t you know. It is called The Hundred Thousand Kingdoms. Interesting title. And my last break was spent working on the GLO mailing list. I think it is in good shape. I have a few questions which I will pose to the group and then we can move forward on that.

My plan for the day, that I made a few days ago, did not come to fruition. I did not head out and try the two beer places that I have in my sights. Although it wasn’t actually cold out, it was cool and grey. And I just didn’t feel like going out. Which is fine. I hope to try again next weekend if the weather cooperates. And I had a dandy time here, not going out. So it worked out. Revised plan I guess.

It is dinner time here at the Chalet. I am having the last of the Mexican food for dinner. I thought the Xanga was good – but not really worth the $$ to me. If I want to have deep fried cheesecake again, I will make it myself. Or buy a cheesecake and make it with that. Anyway, food time!

Thank you for stopping by! Comments and questions are always welcome and encouraged!

Better Dashing Day

So, yes, I couldn’t get through the Tesla up date last night. Elon started with drivel about DOGE. I notice that he isn’t going after the military which is probably a big source of fraud and abuse. Nor is he going after the corruption in politics. And no mention of the autocratic tendencies that Drumpf and co are demonstrating. Pisses me right off. I thought better of him. I was sadly mistaken.

Two dash day!

The first dash was just about perfect. Up until the last dash. Which, though a money maker, added a half hour to my shift. I don’t know why the damn algorithm consistently does that to me. I will have to ask others if it does it to them, too. (Oh, I have spoken with a lot of other dashers and they all said that Tuesday morning was especially slow – phew! I was not alone, then. Or hallucinating…) Lots of local dashes and a decent set of tips in the morning today. All in all, a good dash. Almost made up for the terrible dash on Tuesday morning.

At lunch time, I played. And I ate some more pizza pockets. And, don’t be shocked, a salad! Go me! Eating healthy and shit! I also went over and checked out what SM wanted me to work on. It was going to take longer than the fifteen minutes I had allotted. So we agreed to postpone the work.

After lunch I had a second dashing shift. This one wasn’t bad. I did forget to put the app on pause after what I wanted to be my last dash. But the next one wasn’t terrible and brought me really close to home (just up the hill at Comstock House). Woo hoo!

I was paid a lot to deliver this one teeny thing about halfway down the lake

It was a lovely day. And the temperature is supposed to be even higher tomorrow. My last day of dashing for the week. I am so happy about that! I do have a full weekend planned, though.

Friday, I plan to work on the GLO master mailing list. I still think it ought to be in a database, but good luck convincing anyone else of that. And I want to add some creation fields. And delete some other fields that are just confusing to all involved. On Monday, I will try to convince SN to follow the steps that Llewelyn put in the handover document. It won’t be easy. But, after he had to do the reconciliation, maybe he will listen to the plan. Anything is possible.

Saturday, I am thinking of going to two of the breweries that I have been thinking of checking out for a while now. If they are open. Who knows. I will check on Saturday morning before I head out. Should I do the far away one first and the closer one second? I guess it depends on their hours. But that seems like a better plan than the other way around. Sunday is when SM and I will work on neatening up her office cords and things. And then we will go out to dinner. I don’t know where yet. I think she wants an adventure. Maybe there is someplace cool in Waterloo or near Seneca Falls that we haven’t tried yet. We shall see.

And that is my exciting post! I am going to eat some leftovers, watch an episode or two of Castle and play a little bit. The game is going pretty well, if I have to say so myself.
