First set of beers

SM was kind enough to give me a subscription to a beer delivery company. It took me a while to figure out that I needed to actively do something to get it started. Silly me. So I went on the website and did what I needed to do. And here we are, a month later, with the first shipment. Overall looks like a good selection. Though I did see that there was a Gose in there – not my favorite – more bitter and sour than I like. But it is a fruit gose, so I might be able to drink it. We shall, of course, see.

I’ve also accomplished a few things today. Go me. The main one being cleaning the fridge a little bit. It needed it. There were somethings in there that I had to let go off. I was going to do it last week, but I had thrown away the garbage without thinking and there was a new bag in the trash can so I didn’t really want to dump crap in there and either leave it for a week or throw away an almost empty bag. I am not great at conserving, but I do try occasionally. This week, those problems were moot. It was mostly the bottom of the fridge that got schmutzy. But I managed to make it all a bit better. Star!

In order to clean the fridge, I needed to empty the sink of the crap that had accumulated. I even did a couple of my boarder’s things. Not that she ever cleans any of my stuff. Sigh. Then again, I am not paying her to live here, so I guess I understand her reluctance. Oh, speaking of which, when I washed my scarf the other day I used some laundry detergent that was in the basement. I thought it was mine. But it could have been my boarder’s. She asked me (by text – so odd since she lives in a room about 20 feet from mine) if we had any laundry detergent and of course we did. I had forgotten to put it back in the basement. Down there anyway were the washing machine laundry sheets that I prefer to use. I told her about it all.

My goal today is to read a good bit. And maybe play a little. Now that I have accomplished the cleaning of the fridge, I feel that my work for the day is done!

I finished the fairy court book. It was a short one. A pleasant respite from all of the violence and death in the other books. Still had a prolonged sex scene (four or five full pages) that I mostly skipped. Anyway, the next (and last?) one has been requested from the library. I will get it next week. And requested the last book of the Broken Earth series also. Yay reading!

Speaking of finishing things. I just finished watching all of the Gilmore Girls stuff. Still fun and entertaining. I will probably watch it again someday. But that leaves me without clear goals in streamed entertainment. Maybe I will watch a movie tonight. Anything is possible. I just don’t feel like going out. No one really to go out with. And it is so expensive out and about. And I have “free” beer tonight! Woo hoo!

Tomorrow will be another exciting day. I am going to try to be a teeny bit productive, above and beyond my normal Sunday practices. I have to figure out how to use the stuff that SM gifted me from her fridge. Including an avocado that might be way past its prime. So I am not holding out the possibility of guacamole being a thing. She also gave me some veggies – and a really old pomegranate. I think she just wanted to get rid of the pomegranate. I do too, honestly. And I have to get the taxes together, scan them and send them to by brother. I just know I am going to owe an insane amount. Such a great thing to look forward to. I still contend that people who have less than $50k income ought to be exempt from paying income tax.

Time for leftovers. And beer. One more Saturday night!
