I did more stuff. I did banking, always fun. I walked to the library and renewed my library card. Easy Peasy. I went to two muffler places. Neither Trombley (a local organization) nor Cole Muffler (a national chain) had pipe bending equipment so neither of them were able to help me. Except if I was willing to spend $1000 on a single part of the muffler system. I doubt the car is even worth $1000. So I might get a bumper saying “Wannabe Harley!” and not worry that I am creating noise pollution. Or, while I am on the road, I can try to find a place that has a pipe bending set-up. Maybe Sam will know of one in Austin.
Does anybody know anything about high interest savings accounts? I stumbled upon these and think they could be a nifty thing. I mean, if I can earn .5% interest – that’s way better than .02% that most banks seem to reluctantly pay. There really is no incentive to save money in banks here in this uber-capitalistic society in which we find ourselves in the US living. Poop and sigh.
And here I am doing more stuff! I had been putting off rescheduling one of my massage appointments and starting the booking process on a second. I had forgotten that the first massage place likes to do everything online. I had thought they had multiple masseuses as in more than 2. But it looks like they only have two currently. Which made for really limited availability. Which is great for them! They must be raking in the bucks! But that massage now won’t be happening until the end of August(us). I just left a massage message for the other place. Sounds like it is a one person shop. I like those a bit better, personally.
I will admit that I kinda hated getting rid of the boxes that had lived in the old freezer. They were really great examples of cardboard boxes! Even after having been in the freezer for so long, they were still tough and ready to work. Alas, they are gone. A big pile of recycling left yesterday which is good. So excited! The freezer is still here. Not excited.
Last night my DVD movie was The Hero starring Sam Elliot as a 71 year old actor who is starting to come to terms with his impending demise. Also in it were Laura Prepon (who has become a much better actor since she left That 70s Show), Nick Offerman (love him) and Krysten Ritter who was pretty good in that Marvel show that was on Netflix: Jessica Jones, in a teeny part. by Overall, I enjoyed the movie quite a bit. If you like any of the aforementioned actors, or you like coming of (old) age movies, you might also find it entertaining. And that voice…
After much delay, I decided that today was the day I would try the Sans Dumpling dumplings! My friend posted about them and made noises about us going together, but that never happened. I was going to wait until another friend was available, but because of timing that didn’t work. So, I made the executive decision to head there today. I found the place pretty easily with the help of Google Maps. I ended up ordering 6 pork dumplings (fried dumplings actually) and 3 chicken bao. Yum city. I have already eaten one of the bao as I was really peckish. I did not have much lunch today. Finishing up leftovers.
Tomorrow, I think I will book my three Airbnb’s – Columbus, Nashville and Little Rock.
